How did you come to powerlifting or Olympic lifting?
I went to my son’s first powerlifting meet and fell in love with the sport, the people and the Camaraderie. Nine months later I competed in my first meet. 4 months later I did my second meet and my third meet is 1 month from today. I currently hold SBD state records for Texas in my age/weight class.
Do you have any previous athletic or lifting experience?
Active most of my life walking or machines in gym.

My son is my trainer.

What is the hardest part about beginning lifting as an older woman?
Thinking I will never get to that weight. And yet I did.
How has lifting affected your health?
I feel strong and more confident than in my entire life. My sleep is much improved and just my ability getting around day to day.
